  Each summer, beginning in
June and running through August, Camp Ladore happily opens its arms to
thousands of children. They come to visit, learn and enjoy the 1200 acres of
woodlands and recreational activities available. A powerful sense of
spirituality, motivated by the love of God, pervades all that is offered and
taught at Camp Ladore.Our programs are developed to offer boys and girls of varying ages and backgrounds a chance to come together and experience friendship, cooperation and trust. Owned and operated by the Salvation Army since 1967, weeklong camp experiences are offered for children between the ages of 7 – 12, with specialized wilderness programs for 13 – 17 year olds. Our campers are provided with a wide range of activities that will challenge and inspire them: arts-n-crafts, basketball, soccer, volleyball, fishing, music instruction, hay rides and bible study…just to name a few! The counseling staff is made up of Village Leaders, experienced counselors who develop and schedule our programs, and Assisted Village Leaders, counselors with at least 2 years experience. Generally, we have five campers to one counselor. With 350 to 400 campers arriving weekly, this ensures that their individual needs and wishes are heard and responded to.
Two full time RN (PA licensed) nurses are on site
at Camp Ladore and on 24 hour call. Our Health Lodge is equipped to handle any
bumps and bruises our little campers may experience during their stay.
The Youth Services program is all about them…God’s children. Each child is
special and unique. That’s why we strive to make their experience here
something they will remember, treasure and reflect upon throughout their entire
life.
